We are expanding our support team and seeking a motivated, organized Legal Assistant to help keep our practice running smoothly and efficiently.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Legal Assistant provides essential day-to-day administrative and legal support to attorneys and paralegals. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is eager to build a career in the legal field. The Legal Assistant serves as a key point of contact for clients and plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our office.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Administrative & Office Support:
- Answer and direct incoming calls, take messages, and respond to routine client inquiries.
- Greet and assist clients, visitors, and vendors upon arrival in a professional and welcoming manner.
- Manage attorney and paralegal calendars, including scheduling consultations, hearings, and appointments.
- Organize and maintain physical and electronic filing systems for active and closed matters.
- Process incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and email correspondence.
Legal Support:
- Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents, letters, and correspondence under attorney or paralegal supervision.
- Assist with the preparation and assembly of court filings, hearing binders, and client packages.
- Perform data entry into case management and timekeeping systems accurately and timely.
- Assist with client intake by collecting information, preparing intake forms, and running initial conflict-of-interest checks.
- Follow up with clients on outstanding documents, signatures, and information requests.
- Support attorneys and paralegals with copying, scanning, and organizing case materials.
Billing & Records:
- Assist with entering time records.
- Follow up on outstanding balances and assist with collections as directed.
- Maintain confidentiality of all client and case information in strict compliance with firm policy and Florida Rule of Professional Conduct 4-1.6.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or college coursework in Legal Studies, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of administrative or office experience, ideally in a legal, medical, or professional services environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines.
- Professional, client-friendly demeanor and a team-first attitude.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Preferred:
- Experience in a law firm or legal support environment.
- Familiarity with legal case management software (e.g., Clio or similar).

We are looking for a dedicated, detail-oriented Paralegal to support our Family Law and Civil Litigation practice areas.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Paralegal — Family Law & Civil Litigation will provide essential support to the Firm’s attorneys by managing case files, preparing legal documents, coordinating with clients and courts, and ensuring matters move forward efficiently. This is a fast-paced role that requires strong organizational skills, a proactive mindset, and a commitment to client service.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Case Management & Document Preparation:
- Draft, prepare, and proofread legal documents including pleadings, motions, orders, agreements, and correspondence.
- Prepare and file documents with Florida courts, including e-filing through the Florida Courts E-Filing Portal.
- Maintain and organize active case files, deadlines, and court calendars.
- Prepare trial notebooks, hearing binders, and exhibit lists.
- Conduct legal research and summarize findings for supervising attorneys.
Client & Court Coordination:
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing status updates and gathering information as directed by attorneys.
- Schedule depositions, hearings, mediations, and client appointments.
- Communicate with opposing counsel, court clerks, and third parties as directed.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and electronic correspondence related to matters.
Administrative & Compliance Support:
- Enter time records.
- Assist with client onboarding, intake forms, and conflict-of-interest checks.
- Maintain confidentiality of all client and case information in compliance with Florida Rule of Professional Conduct 4-1.6.
- Support attorneys with collections, invoice management, and accounts receivable follow-up.
- Assist with any other duties as assigned by supervising attorneys or Firm management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Minimum 2 years of paralegal experience in a Florida law firm, preferably in family law or civil litigation.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams).
- Experience with Florida Courts E-Filing Portal.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational ability, and time management.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- Florida Registered Paralegal (FRP) or national paralegal certification (CP, FP, or equivalent).
- Experience with case management software (e.g., Clio or similar).

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Attorney — Family Law & Civil Litigation will manage an active caseload across both practice areas, providing expert legal counsel from initial consultation through resolution or trial. This individual will work closely with the managing attorney, paralegals, and support staff to deliver high-quality representation to our clients.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Family Law:
- Represent clients in divorce, dissolution of marriage, and legal separation proceedings.
- Handle child custody, time-sharing, and parenting plan disputes.
- Manage child support and alimony matters, including modifications.
- Draft and negotiate prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.
- Handle paternity actions, adoption matters, and guardianship proceedings.
- Represent clients in domestic violence injunction hearings.
- Appear in Martin County, St. Lucie County, and surrounding circuit courts as needed.
Civil Litigation:
- Manage civil litigation matters from pre-suit demand through trial and appeal.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, demand letters, and legal memoranda.
- Conduct depositions, hearings, mediations, and arbitrations.
- Manage case strategy, timelines, and client communications throughout litigation.
- Research evolving Florida case law and statutes applicable to active matters.
General:
- Conduct thorough client consultations and provide clear, actionable legal advice.
- Maintain accurate and timely billing records in compliance with Firm policies.
- Mentor and supervise paralegals and support staff assigned to matters.
- Participate in Firm meetings, CLE training, and professional development activities.
- Comply with all Florida Rules of Professional Conduct, including Rules 4-1.6 and 4-1.10.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Active member of The Florida Bar in good standing; no disciplinary history.
- Minimum 2–5 years of litigation experience, with demonstrated family law experience.
- Proficiency in Florida family law statutes (Chapter 61, F.S.) and civil procedure.
- Strong legal writing, research, and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently and meet deadlines.
- Professionalism, integrity, and a client-first approach.
Preferred:
- Experience in Martin County or St. Lucie County courts.
- Familiarity with case management software (e.g., Clio or similar).
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

As a Trial Lawyer within our esteemed legal team, you will play a pivotal role in advocating for our clients in court proceedings. You will be responsible for representing clients during trials, hearings, and other legal proceedings. The ideal candidate possesses strong litigation skills, legal acumen, and the ability to effectively communicate complex legal arguments. Job Functions/Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conduct thorough legal research to build a strong case foundation.
- Gather and analyze evidence, interview witnesses, and collaborate with investigators as necessary.
- Develop a comprehensive trial strategy and case theory.
- Represent clients in court during trials, hearings, motions, and other legal proceedings.
- Present opening and closing statements, examine witnesses, and cross-examine opposing witnesses.
- Argue legal points and objections effectively before the court.
- Adhere to courtroom rules and etiquette.
- Stay abreast of changes in legal procedures and regulations.
- Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.

Competencies:

Experience:

- Continuing legal education and staying up to date with changes in probate and estate laws.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in the state/jurisdiction where the position is located.

Salary: $100,000 – $130,000
