Job Summary:
As a Trial Lawyer within our esteemed legal team, you will play a pivotal role in advocating for our clients in court proceedings. You will be responsible for representing clients during trials, hearings, and other legal proceedings. The ideal candidate possesses strong litigation skills, legal acumen, and the ability to effectively communicate complex legal arguments. This role demands a passion for the pursuit of justice and a commitment to achieving successful outcomes for our clients.
Job Functions/Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Conduct thorough legal research to build a strong case foundation.
- Gather and analyze evidence, interview witnesses, and collaborate with investigators as necessary.
- Develop a comprehensive trial strategy and case theory.
- Represent clients in court during trials, hearings, motions, and other legal proceedings.
- Present opening and closing statements, examine witnesses, and cross-examine opposing witnesses.
- Argue legal points and objections effectively before the court.
- Adhere to courtroom rules and etiquette.
- Stay abreast of changes in legal procedures and regulations.
- Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, timely, and in compliance with legal standards.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, keeping them informed about the progress of their cases.
- Provide legal counsel to clients, explaining legal processes and potential outcomes.
- Engage in pre-trial negotiations and settlement discussions when appropriate.
- Negotiate plea bargains and settlements on behalf of clients.
Competencies:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the bar and in good standing with the relevant jurisdiction.
- Proven experience as a trial lawyer with a successful track record.
- Strong oral advocacy and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with legal teams and clients.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and legal precedents.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Experience:
- Proven experience in handling trial cases.
- Prior experience representing clients in court proceedings.
- Strong track record of successfully managing and resolving complex legal issues related to trial and court proceedings.
- Continuing legal education and staying up to date with changes in probate and estate laws.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in the state/jurisdiction where the position is located.
Job Title: Full Time
Salary: $100,000 – $130,000
