Hi, This is Travis Walker with The Law Offices of Travis R. Walker.

We have the privilege of helping people who’ve been injured in car accidents and one of the big questions are “Should I get Uninsured Motorist Coverage?” when it comes to the State of Florida.

As many of you can imagine, there’s many uninsured and underinsured drivers driving around. Unfortunately if you were to get 20, 30, $50,000 worth of medical bills and you were hit and the other side was liable for the accident and they have no insurance or they have little insurance, for example they only have the PIP, then you really have to consider that uninsured motorist coverage because with that your insurance company will pick up the remaining balance of whatever that injury is with regards to the cost, the pain and suffering, and medical bills whereas if you don’t have uninsured motorist coverage that can really hurt you.

The benefit obviously is the actual having that coverage and having that ability to recover in the unfortunate event that you are in an accident and of course the con to that is an increased premium or slightly increased premium but considering when you weigh it out and it’s a conversation to have with your insurance agent, often times it really pays to have that uninsured motorist coverage so we strongly recommend it to our clients. We help injured people and look forward to talking with you.
