Sponsorship will support scholarships for 4 finalists

Stuart, Florida, February 21, 2018 – The Law Offices of Travis R. Walker, P.A. is proud to announce its sponsorship of this year’s Youth of the Year scholarship through the Boys and Girls Club of St. Lucie County; we are excited to attend the official announcement of the scholarship winners on February 21st, 2018 at the Santa Lucia River Club in Port St. Lucie. The Youth of the Year program promotes and celebrates amazing teens for their outstanding service to the Boys and Girls Club, community, and family. The award also takes into consideration their academic performance, moral character, life goals, and public speaking ability, as well as personal challenges and obstacles overcome. In addition to their participation and leadership in Club activities, these finalists also typically maintain an above average GPA in school, participate in school sports, volunteer to organize events in their communities, and hold leadership positions in school groups. Our sponsorship will contribute to the finalists receiving scholarships to the college of their choice. Those participants who go on to state, regional, and national levels of the program are afforded additional opportunities for personal growth. The winner could potentially represent Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County at the state, regional and national level, where he or she will compete for a $50,000.00 scholarship and an appearance at the White House.

The Boys and Girls Club of St. Lucie County has been working with disadvantaged youth from economic, social and family circumstances for over 22 years and now has 18 locations throughout the county. The Clubs provide afterschool, summer, and outreach programs which promote health, social, educational vocational, character, and leadership development to over 6,000 youth annually. They provide life-enhancing programs aimed at character development, hope, and opportunity. The Law Offices or Travis R. Walker, P.A. is proud to be a sponsor of the Youth of the Year Award and congratulates the finalists on their outstanding achievements.
